64 Year Old Mangalorean Proves Humanity is Above Everything Else: Know What Happened

October 8: A 64-year-old man from Mangalore proved that humanity is more than money. Jayaprakash Shenoy the 64 yeear old man made the day of a youth who had lost his wallet containing Rs 67,685 in cash and other vital documents in it.
Shenoy who owns a shop on KS Rao Road and is a regular traveller between Mangalore and Kasaragod. Shenoy found the wallet near the ATM counters outside the Mangalore central railway station on Friday and found cash in it. He headed straight to the RPF office along with the wallet.
Mangalore deputy station manager Kishan Bangera said that that Shenoy who had alighted from the train as usual and was headed for his shop came across the purse and came straight to the RPF office. Shenoy explained the incident to the officer and insisted that the cash in it be counted, which the RPF personnel did and found it contained the above-mentioned amount, ATM cards with other documents like driving license. Police Inspector Manoj Kumar contacted the owner of the purse – Muhammad Sakir, 28, a resident of Panjimadi in Harekala of Mangalore taluk who came to the station to claim it.
On confirming that purse belonged to Muhammad, police handed it over to him. Muhammad Sakir later called Shenoy and felicitated him for his honesty.
