Mangalore Police to Start Pink Whatsapp Group for Girls: How will This Help?

October 11: Mangalore City Police have come up with an idea odf creating a pink group on whatsapp.  Police commissioner P S Harsha mooting a pink group on the Whatsapp will be used to attend to complaints from women students from educational institutions in Mangalore.
Commissioner Harsha during a workshop said that Dakshina Kannada (DK) Working Journalists Association organised on ‘Drugs, cyber- crime and communal amity,’ for students as part of its Brand Mangalore Campaign.

He mentioned that police has already set up beat wise WhatsApp groups at the police station level, as part of the #MyBeatMyPride drive.
While talking about the pink group on whatsapp, commissioner Harsha said that it will be a gender specific tool for the police to respond to security needs of women and assist them. This will be helpful to quickly attend  complaints raised by women and female students.
