10K Run To Be Held In Mangalore: For The First Time Huge Number Of People Expected To Take Part

January 30: Sahyadri 10 K run will be held in Mangalore on February 2, Sunday. The run will begin at Mangala Stadium from 6.15 am onwards.
For the first time in Mangalore, thousands of people are registering their names for the marathon. Theparticipants of the marathon will get a ‘Bib’ number with chip and bar code. Each GPS enabled Bib (records timings of participant) is priced Rs 150.
Dakshina Kannada Athletic Association (DKAA) President and Bhandary Foundation Chairman Manjunath Bhandary said that more than 6,500 participants have registered online for the 10K run. This mega event has received support from the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Mangalore University, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS). Music Director Gurukiran was the event’s ‘Brand Ambassador’.
Cultural programmes, Yoga demonstrations by SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences will be conducted to entertain the crowd until the end of Marathon at Mangala stadium.
