12 Checkposts set up across Border Areas
As Loksabha Election is nearing, security has been strengthened in the district. As many as 21 check posts have been set up including 12 across border areas.
To ensure peaceful polling, many proactive measures have been initiated in the Police Commissionerate jurisdiction.
Mangalore Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil said that Company of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) has already arrived and route marches had been carried out jointly by the CAPF and police personnel to increase confidence among voters.
Commissioner said that all the police officers have been trained to respond to any situations. Precautionary steps have been taken to prevent proxy voting on the day of polling. The Police personnel at check posts at border areas have been intercepting the vehicles crossing the border to ensure that cash, liquor and other goods are not transported.
Inter-state check posts have been opened at Saradka, Talapady, Mudipu, Kanyana, Ishwaramangala, Panaje, Saradka, Sampaje, Jalsoor, Mandekolu. Narkodi, Murooru and other areas.
