13 New Degree Colleges Affiliated to Mangalore University
At a meeting held by The Council of Mangalore University, it approved the affiliation of 13 new degree colleges. With this, the University will now have 209 colleges under its jurisdiction which is spread over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi & Kodagu districts.
The colleges are Mangalore Institute of Oncology (Mahaveer Circle, Mangaluru); Varasiddhi Vinayaka First Grade College (Keradi, Kundapur); Vidyalakshmi Group of Educational Institutions (Brahmavar); Mangaluru College and Speech and Hearing (Vidyanagar in Neermarga); Indian Design School (S L Mathias Road, Mangaluru); Anjuman First Grade College (Jokatte); Nitte Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Studies (Kodakal in Mangaluru); Gloria College (Darbe in Puttur); Marckazal Huda College (Kumbra, Olamogaru); Chanakya College (Chowlu in Somwarpet); S S Degree College (Kushalnagar); Tejaswini College of Yoga Sciences and Therapy (Kudupu in Mangaluru); and Ambika Maha Vidyalaya (Puttur).
Despite these Colleges, There are 138 private colleges, including BEd colleges. As many as 14 colleges have not applied for affiliation for the year 2019-20. There are five autonomous and five constituent colleges under the jurisdiction of the Mangalore University
