150-kg Cake Decorated With Eatables on the Occasion of Gau Puja: Here are the Details

October 29: Gau Puja and Govardhan Puja will be organised by Iskcon Mangalore on the occasion of Deepavaliat at TMA Pai International Convention Centre from 5.30 pm onwards on October 29.
Sanandana Dasa, secretary, Iskcon Mangalore said that the programme would begin with Gau Puja, by feeding the cow. The Govardharn Puja will be held at 6.30 pm.
A 150-kg cake made out of a rice mound will be decorated with eatables to resemble Govardhan hill. After the arati, the cake will be distributed among devotees as prasadam. The ‘Damodara Arati’ will be performed on the occasion, said Dasa. A programme ‘Zero to 40 Million’, commemorating the serving of 40 million meals under the ‘Akshaya Patra’ scheme by Iskcon, will be held at 7 pm. The organisation feeds around 14,000 children in Dakshina Kannada. The Deepotsava Vishesha Arti will be held at 8.30 pm. Prasadam meals will be served at 8.30 pm onwards, Dasa said.
He further said that, as a part of the auspicious Karthika month, the Iskcon has been conducting Karthika Deepotsava programme from October 13. It will go on until November 12 at the Iskcon Temple, Arya Samaja Road, starting 7 pm.
