24 Hours Passed After Experiencing The Mysterious Gas Leak Smell in Mangalore: No Clarification Yet

Citizens in various parts of Mangalore city had experienced of smell of gas pervading the air on Thursday evening. People from Bendore, Kottara, Car Street, Kodialbail, Derebail, Mannagudda and other areas had complained of gas leakage smell. In some places, people reported that the smell was quite strong. The mysterious smell has caused anxiety among the citizens of Mangalore.

Mangalore police commissioner, Shashi Kumar said that MRPL, HPCL, Total Gas, MCF have clarified that there was no leakage from their end and a check was done at automobile gas pumps in city and highway areas as well as tankers, but no leakage has been found.

DK DC Rajendra informed that a complaint in this connection has been made to the control room of district disaster management authority. Police department, fire service personnel and deputy directors of factories and boilers have been immediately informed about the same. The operation to detect the source of gas leakage is in progress, the DC added.
