50% Of Beds In Private Hospitals Must Be Reserved For COVID Patients – Minister Kota SrinivasPoojary

August 7: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has directed the private hospitals to mandatorily reserve 50 per cent of their beds to accommodate coronavirus patients.
Minister Poojary conducted an inspection at A J Hospital and Srinivas Medical College regarding the coronavirus treatment on the request of Mangalore North MLA Dr Bharath Shetty.
He mentioned that private hospitals should cooperate with the government to treat the corona-infected patients in the district. The government is supplying Rapid Antigen kits to private hospitals and has directed them to conduct tests free of charge. Also the government intends to provide free treatment to COVID patients under Ayushman scheme, the minister added.
