Labourer booked under POCSO Act for impregnating a minor

Officials from Punjalkatte Police Station have booked a case against a young labourer under POCSO Act for impregnating a minor girl who is his relative.
The accused has been identified as Somshekhar, who is in his early 20’s.
The victim had migrated to Bantwal a year ago with some relatives to earn their livelihood. Both were daily wage labourers & were residing together in a makeshift tent.
As per the victim, the accused has made sexual advances several times towards her on the pretext of marriage. The family members of the victim filed a police complaint, when they learnt that the victim was pregnant.
