Mysterious Death of Crows in Mangalore: Test Results Are Negative For Bird Flu
January 9: More than six crows were found dead mysteriously near Arangady of Manjanady village after which people were in a state of panic. Samples were sent to the Institute of Animal Health in Hebbal, Bangalore to ascertain the cause for the death of the birds.
The Karnataka health minister had urged people to not panic in the matter and advised them to cook their meat properly before consuming it. The results arrived on January 8, Friday and the samples have tested negative for bird flu (Avian influenza).
State health minister Dr Sudhakar had stated that he had informed Harsh Vardhan about the incident of six dead crows in Manjanady. Union health minister Harsh Vardhan held a meeting with health ministers of the states and union territories regarding the same.
