January 9: The 25-year-old Kankanady market building was demolished and the Foundation for new high tech market was laid some time back. The construction work for the new high tech market at a cost of Rs 41 crore is progressing well and is expected to be completed within 2 years.
The market will be like a mall with over a hundred stalls, spacious parking, a separate system for individual vendors, granite, and cleanliness will be given added importance.
