Labourers of Unorganised Sector to Get Rs 2,000 as Covid Financial Assistance: This is How They Can Apply

Following CM Yeiyurappa’s announcement regarding covid package to workers in unorganized sector, Dakshina Kannada DC Dr Rajendra K V said that the state government will give an amount of Rs 2,000 each from the Covid package to labourers of unorganized sector as they are facing difficulties due to the lockdown. The DC mentioned that unorganized sector labourers like barbers, washermen, tailors, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, house labourers, rag pickers, loading unloading workers and labourers within the age group of 18 to 65 years are eligible to get this one-time compensation.
They will have to fill the application at the nearby Seva Sindhu center of their area in prescribed form and upload their photo along with the Aadhar card which is linked to the bank account, ration card authenticating their address, voter ID card, mobile number, self-declaration and employment proof.
The proof of employment can be obtained through any one of the officers like revenue officers, revenue inspectors of city corporations, city municipalities, town municipalities, and town panchayats. At taluk level the same can be obtained from tahsildars, deputy tahsildars, revenue inspectors, revenue officers. In gram panchayat limits the certificate can be obtained from PDOs, secretary, labour inspector, labour officers, and assistant labour commissioner. This authenticated certificate should be uploaded on the portal. If there are more than one person working in the mentioned sectors, then only one person is eligible to get the compensation.
