Two Swimmers From DK District Qualify for National Swimming Championship

Two swimmers from Dakshina Kannada’s Puttur Aquatic Club (PAC) Vaishnav Hegde and Jyotsna Pansare have won medals at the swimming trials held at Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre between September 24 and 29. Vaishnav Hegde participated in the naval trials and qualified Vaishnav Hegde participated in the naval trials and qualified for All India Inter Services Swimming Championship to be held at Basavanagudi Swimming Centre, Bangalore in the first week of October. He won three gold medals in 50m breaststroke (29.01 sec), 50m freestyle (24.1 sec) and 100m breaststroke (1.06 minute) and will represent the Indian Navy at the inter-services meet. Jyotsna Pansare won three gold medals in 50m backstroke (31.3 sec), 50m butterfly (29.3 sec) and 100m backstroke (1.08 minutes) at the Senior State Aquatic Championship and has qualified for the prestigious senior nationals which will be held at the Basavanagudi Swimming Pool on October 26.
