Siren System to be Introduced This Year to Maintain Timings During Kambala

Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming kambala season that is set to begin this month. The District Kambala Samithi of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasaragod districts is trying to enforce strict adherence to the timings. Kambala Samithi president Belapu Deviprasad Shetty said that the samithi has decided to introduce the siren system to facilitate the jockey to take the pair of buffaloes to the Kambala track for the competition.

Guidelines have been framed to ensure that kambala events are conducted systematically and in a disciplined manner, all within a 24-hour timeframe. In the event of any delay in bringing the pair of kambala buffaloes to the track, a siren will be sounded. If the delay persists even after the siren, those particular buffaloes will be set aside, and the next pair of buffaloes will be given the chance to participate in the race. Modifications will be implemented in the third umpire and sky view system as well.
