Planning to Visit Malpe Beach? This is What You Need to Know

August 29: The footfalls at Malpe beach has increased for the past few days as the rain had decreased. The life guards at Malpe beach struggle to control the visitors during the weekend. There are five life guards, six ‘Pravasi Mithras’ and two police personnel deployed at the Malpe beach to prevent revelers from entering the sea. The visitors at the beach are disappointed when life guards prevent them from entering the sea and getting their feet wet.
Sudesh Shetty of Malpe Beach Development Committee said that the committee had installed a seven-ft high iron mesh up to a distance of one kilometre on Malpe beach to prevent tourists from stepping into the foamy waters. This is done since the tourists are ignorant about strong currents and venture into the sea inspite of warning from the lifeguards.
Shetty informed that The mesh will be removed only when the sea is calm and after September 10.
