Surveillance team highly alert in DK: cash & liquor seized

After the Loksabha Election dates have been announced in India, moral code of conduct has been enforced throughout. The surveillance teams by Election Commission of India in Dakshina Kannada are highly alert and have seized cash of Rs 8.72 lakhs and illegal liquor worth Rs 62.9 lakhs. Out of the cash Rs 8.72 lakh which was seized, officials have returned the money except for Rs 20000.
9 cases have been registered in Dakshina Kannada district under violation of moral code of conduct within 10 days. DC Sasikanth Senthil said that out of these 9 cases 7 cases have been disposed and two cases are still pending.
Along with this, two reports have been filled regarding poll expenditure. He mentioned that most violation cases in MCC are related to pamphlets and speeches.
