Alumni & Well-Wishers of Century Old Government School Plan to Turn it Into A Delhi Model School

The alumni and well-wishers of a century old government model higher primary school in Surathkal, have come together to turn iy into a Delhi Model School. The school, which had been offering education for the past century, was about to close due to having poor admissions. Alumni group led by Sudhakar B Shetty and 14 others realized that the school was on the verge of closure wrote a letter to the state government, and were able to stop the closure.

They have now started a school trust and want to convert the school into a Delhi model school, in another year. The trust members consist of old students, and like-minded people. They have also come up with several unique academic plans, to increase the admissions. In the first year, the school will have LKG and UKG classes and in the coming year, the school will also have an English medium. There are also plans to have AR/VR enabled smart classrooms, STEM Lab, introduction of LKG learning management system, SMS alert based attendance system, secure campus with surveillance, use of solar power, organic kitchen garden, regular counselling and coaching sessions for students and parents, and free school bus facility with GPS among others.
