Ayodhya Verdict: These Measures are Being Taken to Maintain Peace in the District
November 9: In view of Ayodhya case Verdict by Supreme Court on November 9, Schools and colleges up to PUC will remain closed in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts.
Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh has requested the public to maintain peace. Police Commissioner Harsha has warned strict action against people posting provocative statements regarding the verdict on social media. Processions are celebrations are prohibited after the verdict. Meeting are being held to maintain law and order in the district.
Religious heads have also appealed to the people to maintain peace during and after the verdict.
As a precautionary measure, bars, pubs and wine shops in twin districts will remain closed for 24 hours from 6 am on November 9.
