Ayush Sports Medicine Centre Will Be Set Up Near Mangala Stadium in Mangalore: Much Needed

Ministry of Ayush had sanctioned an Ayush Sports Medicine Centre for the coastal city. The Ayush department in Dakshina Kannada has finalised 30 cents of land near Mangala Stadium for the same. Several sports activities take place at the stadium regularly. The new centre will be a boon for athletes. The Ayush department has already sent a detailed project report (DPR) for the centre to the government.

Dr Mohammad Iqbal, district Ayush officer, said that the centre will provide support to athletes for fitness management as well as injury management. The aim is to set up a national-level sports medicine centre with infrastructure on par with international sports medicine centres. It should cater to sports persons arriving in the city from various states. The centre will have facilities to reside, sports lab, yoga studio, panchakarma therapy centre, hydrotherapy unit, and all other infrastructure required for a sports medicine centre. Once the central government approves the DPR, the tender process will commence.
