Ban on Traders From Other Faiths During Festivals Opposed: What is Your Opinion?

There as a request for ban on traders from other faiths during religious festivals in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Association of Festival Fair Merchants has demanded action against those who spread communal hatred by calling for the ban.

Merchants have asked the government to take stringent action against those who ban traders from different faiths during fairs on temple, masjid and church premises. The association has requested that all festival fair merchants should be given protection. The government should conduct a survey and distribute identity cards to festival fair merchants, who conduct business in temples, masjids and other religious places, members demanded at a convention held here recently.
