Be Alert While Doing ATM Transactions: ATM ‘skimming’ Attempt Made in Mangalore

February 23: ATM ‘skimming’ attempt was made at Mangaladevi on February 21, Sunday. A CCTV footage went viral on social media, where two people were caught by locals and were handed over to the police.
Locals noticed that two persons were trying to install something at the ATM Machine. As per information, they are involved in at least 40 ATM skimming cases.
ATM skimming is an criminal act where details of ATM card are stolen by installing microelectronic equipments in or over the ATM machine. After acquiring ATM details of the card like 16 digit card number, CVV, card pin a duplicate card is created by the criminals and used to withdraw money.
