Bird Flu Cases Become Serious In Kerala: High Alert Issued in Dakshina Kannada & Udupi Districts

January 6: Karnataka’s Animal Husbandry Department has issued high alert to all district collectors and put Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Mysuru, and Coorg districts after cases of bird flu were reported in Kerala.
As per orders, compulsory inspection and chemical spraying must be done to all vehicles coming from Kerala to these districts. Poultries must be informed to take extra precautions and safety measures. If symptoms of bird flu are found, samples must be sent to Bangalore’s Indian veterinary research institute.
