Boy gets stuck in lift: Meets death

March 27: An eight-year-old boy loses life after he got trapped in an apartment elevator near Chilimbi on Wednesday. The victim has been identified as Manjunath, a student of Class II at Canara Higher Primary School at Urwa. He was about to complete his annual examination on Thursday.
Manjunath is the son of Neelappa & Parvathi from Bagalkot. Neelappa works as the security guard at Bharathi Heights Apartment, on fourth Cross in Chilimbi, since eight years.

The boy was inside the lift when the it started moving. In an attempt to come out of the lift, he got stuck between the lift and the wall. Manjunath’s sister Bhagya, who was playing near the ground floor, called out to the residents on hearing the screams of her brother. The residents in the apartment immediately rushed the boy to a hospital but was declared brought dead.
