Caste difference found on wedding day: Mysore Groom, Mangalore Bride call off their wedding

July 17: Everything was set, the wedding hall was decked up, wedding lunch for the guests was being prepared, wedding rituals had started. The Bride and the groom were ready to get into wedlock.
The groom’s family then noticed the bride’s family being unaware of the wedding rituals. On discussion the parties realized that they belonged to different caste.
The boy and girl met each other at another wedding a few days ago through a broker. The meeting led to further conversations and the two decided to decided to get married elders then got involved and the wedding was scheduled at Harihareshwara temple in Sullia taluk on July 10.
Both the parties did not bother to talk about the caste initially but blamed the broker for the confusion who had to return the commission.
Manager of the hall Loknath said necessary documents were taken before letting out the hall. Once the wedding was called off police were informed but neither side wanted to file a case.
