Celebrate Eco Friendly Ganesh Chaturthi: No Using Idols Made from POP in Mangalore

August 30: Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has told officials to make sure that People do not use Ganesh Idols made with Plaster of Paris. DC Senthil mentioned that celebrating Eco friendly Ganesh Chaturthi is the responsibility of every citizen.
DC has directed his officials to visit places where the Ganesh idols are being sold to check if the idols are made of plaster of paris or mud. DC has appealed to several organisations and citizens celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in Dakshina Kannada  District to make sure that while immersing the idol into water( River, well etc) no flowers, colours are gone along with the idol.
