Changes Have Been Made In The Plan of Multi-Level Car Parking Complex At Hampankatta: Check Out

February 6: A multi-level car parking complex was planned at old bus stand area in Hampankatta by Mangalore Smart City Limited (MSCL).
Initially the plan was to build the multi-level car parking on 2.2 acres at Hampankatta, and a tender in this regard was also finalized. However, MSCL could not come to an agreement with landowners, who possess 60 cents in the area.Therefore the plan has been changed and the multi-level car parking complex will now be built on 1.6 acres owned by the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC).
The plan to take up the project of constructing a multi-level car parking with commercial complex and other facilities at an estimated cost of Rs 94 crore though the Smart City mission.
MSCL managing director Mohammed Nazeer said that inspite of several meetings at the local levels and through the deputy commissioner and chairman of MSCL, the owners of 60 cents in the nearby areas are not agreeing to the terms and conditions given by them and the conditions laid down by the landowners are not agreeable to them. Therefore a decision to redesign the project by limiting the multi-level car parking complex to 1.6 acres owned by the MCC.
