Congress urges Government to ban ABVP: Click to know why

July 9: District Congress Committee organised a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangalore on Monday, July 8. During the protest, the Congress urged the government to ban ABVP.
District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai while speaking during the protest urged the government to ban the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP), for exploiting students for political gains. He mentioned that the organisation is conspiring to destroy the image of the district. He alleged that a college in Puttur supports saffron terrorism by involving their students in politics.
Former minister B Ramanath Rai said that the ABVP took a U-turn in Puttur gang-rape case by declaring that the accused are not their members. Slogans against the ABVP and Karandlaje were heard during the protest.
