Covid Situation in Schools to be Monitored For a Week: Temporary Closure if Positivity Rate is Over 5%

Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Dr Rajendra K V, said that the district administration has decided to keep a close watch on the situation at schools for a week, instead of instead of instructing them to close. The DC mentioned that instructions will be issued to temporarily close down schools with five or more percent coronavirus positivity rate temporarily for a week.

The deputy commissioner asked the education department to collect information from schools on a daily basis and issue suitable directions. He said that further decision on the issue will be taken after convening a meeting again on the issue after a week.
