Covid Task Forces Reactivated in Udupi District: This is How it Works
The Udupi district government has reactivated all work teams in its areas as the number of daily covid cases has increased by approximately tenfold. District, taluk, and village task groups have been requested to monitor the situation daily and to run COVID-appropriate behavior campaigns across the district. A 24×7 COVID-19 helpline will be opened at the taluk and district headquarters for people. Contact-tracing teams will be formed in each taluk, headed by nodal officers. These teams will also monitor sealed areas and containment zones. All task forces have been directed to work in coordination with each other. The district administration has made vaccination certificates for two doses mandatory for the public to enter all government offices. The district also directed all government hospitals to keep wards, ICUs, ventilators, oxygen concentrators, ambulances, and all equipment ready for any possible emergency. Flying squads will be formed to enforce the weekend curfew and monitor gatherings at weddings and other events.
