Cyclone Kyarr in Coastal District: Major Threat to Fishing Boats

October 26: Kyarr cyclone has resulted in heavy rainfall coastal district. Holidays have been declared to schools and colleges.
The fishing boats are facing major threat from Cyclone Kyarr. Majority of the fishing boats have returned from deep-sea fishing and are anchored at the Old Port.
More than 200 boats are near the estuary to enter the port for anchoring, which has caused hindrance to the Coast Guard in carrying out rescue and search operations. It has been advised that deep sea fishing at this point of time could be dangerous.
