Daily Passes To Start For Commuters From Kasargod To Mangalore: Conditions Apply

August 4: The Kasargod district administration has decided to resume the daily pass system for people commuting to Mangalore from Kasargod for work related purpose. The decision was taken during video conference between Kerala Revenue Minister Chandrasekharan, officials and elected representatives on August 3, Monday.
The Kasargod district administration had stopped issuing daily passes from July 6 for entry and exit from Talapady border as the Covid cases were increasing in DK district. This had caused inconvenience to hundreds of employees, who visited Mangalore daily to eke a living. People working in private sectors were on the verge of losing their jobs.
The Kasaragod district administration will resume issuing of passes for daily commuters between Kasaragod and Mangalore but there are certain conditions which have to be kept in mind. . But they should undergo rapid antigen test for every week to renew their passes.
The passes will be issued for a week and the commuters should undergo rapid antigen test for every week to renew their passes. Similarly, one-time interstate passes will be issued for those who want to take part in marriages, funeral and other functions in both states. Even they should undergo antigen test after returning from the functions. However, there is no restrictions on transportation of essential commodities but the vehicles should be sanitised before entering Kerala. The drivers and staff, who return from Karnataka, should undergo antigen test after seven days of their return.
