Dandiya Events in Mangalore Were Held Even After Objections But With Riders: Read to Know The Story

Dandiya event organisers in the city, who faced objections from right-wing groups, were on Friday allowed to go ahead with the celebrations later.  Dandiya events, which are held as part of the Dasara celebrations, were reportedly cancelled on Thursday after there was an objection from right-wing groups who complained to the police department. However, on Friday afternoon, they were given permission to conduct the events as per the schedule, but following several guidelines issued by the police department.

Mangalore city police commissioner, Anupam Agarwal said that initially they asked organisers not to go ahead with the celebrations since the police department received complaints from certain groups that these events have become a place for drug abuse and other illegal activities. To avoid any issues, the event organizers were asked to cancel the event but later allowed them with some riders, art with a wider audience.
