Date of Mangalore Corporation Election Declared: People Put Up These Banners

October 22: After Election Commission declared that election to Mangalore City Corporation council will be held on November 12, people started putting up banners demanding  quality roads at the MCC jurisdiction.
One such banner has been  put up at Maryhill has sent a strict warning to the political parties; “No vote for you until you show progress in my city.”

An activist from Maryhill has put up the banner which mentions that the stretch from Maryhill Mount Carmel to Sri Venkataramana Temple needs to be repaired and candidates should seek vote only if development works begin. According to residents, the stretch from Maryhill-Sri Venkatramana Temple is in a pathetic condition and was not asphalted for many years.
MCC Commissioner S Ajith Kumar Hegde said that no work could be taken up since the city was receiving heavy rains and now since the election has been declared for the MCC council no new work can be taken up.
