Declining Fortunes at Mangalore Airport: Congress Blames Airport Authority of India & Adani

The covid pandemic has led to decrease in International flights and domestic flights at Mangalore International Airport. Lockdown and covid restrictions is the main reason for decrease in operations at MIA.
Failing to understand the situation, AICC Secretary and Ex-MLC Ivan D’Souza said that the progress of the airport has seen a slump and that there has been a cut in facilities, reduction in flights and violation  of contract agreement.
He pointed out that the number of flights to Mumbai have been reduced and the only Indian Airlines flight to Mysuru has also been cancelled, he alleged that airlines companies were hesitating to operate flights from Mangalore. He also said that the Airports Authority of India has failed for not being able to introduce flights to Srilanka, Singapore, Thailand, Bangkok and other nations with tourist  potential  except to Gulf countries even 16 years after getting international tag.
