Deepawali on Its Way: Mangalorean Streets Full With Vendors Selling Unique Diyas, Goodudeepas & Flowers

November 12: Deepavali starts from November 13, Friday to November 16, Monday. Deepavali, the festival of lights is celebrated throughtout the country grandly in different ways.
People decorate their homes with lanterns, goodudeepas, diyas and rangolis during the festival. The shopping for diyas, goodudeepas has started in Mangalore and the streets are filled with vendors selling diyas lamps and colourful flowers. The street vendors near Karavali Utsav ground are seen selling variety of diyas in different sizes, patterns and designs. It is this time of the year when people lighten up their houses with diyas, lamps and distribute sweets to their loved ones.
