Door numbers to 250-odd houses in Bengre: MLA Vedavyas Kamath started the process
June 18: Mangalore City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath started the process to provide door numbers to 250-odd houses in Bengre surroundings under Mangalore City Corporation limits on Monday.
The MLA thanked revenue authorities who helped in implementing the long-standing demand of people of the region at a function in the new building of Neeleshwalya Mogaveera Bhavan. Kamath advised the residents who have obtained land records to obtain door numbers, those who have obtained door numbers to obtain title deeds.
Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers under its corporate social responsibility funds has initiated talks to set up an emergency treatment facility at Bengre at an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakh. Steps will be taken to post full time doctors facility later, he said. Work on anganwadi building too will too will be completed soon, he said, adding work on concreting at Kasba Bengre with minority development funds too is under progress.
A sum of Rs 5 lakh will be sanctioned for the new building of Mogaveera Bhavan once deputy commissioner approves funding for it under MLA’s local area development fund, he said, adding he has included the same in the list given to DC for approval on priority. The move to start a government English medium school at Kasba will help local children, he said, while urging the the locals to identify a suitable place for a crematorium in the area.
