Exhibition of Dasara Dolls in Mangalore: Check Out

September 27: An exhibition of Dasara dolls will be organised by ‘Nammavaru’ association at the Sharavu Sri Mahaganapathy Temple premises from September 29 to October 8. The Dasara dolls exhibition will be open to the public from 4.30 pm to 9 pm. Bhajan and cultural programmes will be held from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
Nammavaru Convener M S Gururaj said that the exhibition will be inaugurated by Sharavu Temple Managing Trustee Sharavu Raghavendra Shastry on September 29 (6.30 pm). A spiritual discourse will be delivered by Ramakrishna Mutt’s Mangalore seer Dharmavratanandaji Maharaj. Vipra Samagama Vedike President P Ramakrishna Rao will be the guest.
Gururaj stated that Nammavaru association has been organising Dasara dolls exhibition, based on a special theme each year and this year, the theme will be ‘The birth of Sri Krishna’. he also mentioned that the tradition of Haridasa saints will be depicted in the doll exhibition, among the traditional dolls. Dolls depicting agriculturists and ‘Gurji’ celebrations of coastal region will be the added attractions. Around 1,000 dolls will be exhibited, he added.
