Finally Puttur KSRTC Bus Stand Will be Named After Legendary Tuluva Heroes Koti Chennaya

The proposal to name the KSRTC bus terminal at Puttur after Koti Chennaya, the legendary Tuluva heroes who are worshipped in the region, is likely to be a reality in March. The government has already approved the proposal to name the bus stand after Koti-Chennaya.

A year back, KSRTC decided to name the bus terminal, which was built on nearly 3.5 acres at a cost of Rs 33 crore in 2016, after Koti Chennaya. Since prominent shrines and historic monuments of Koti and Chennaya are located at Padumale and Gejjegiri villages in Puttur, a proposal to name the bus stand after the twin heroes was mooted by Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor.

MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor announced that an official naming ceremony for the bus stand will be scheduled in March, prior to the assembly election. A committee will be formed to hold a function as part of the official naming ceremony that will commence with a colourful procession, the MLA said.
