Finally The CCTV & Fencing Barrier Inaugurated at Netravathi Bridge

March 4: Distressed people used to jump from the Netravathi bridge into the river. About 10 to 15 people on average used to end their lives in a year.  To avoid such incidents, work on fencing barrier was undertaken at the Natravathi bridge long back by MUDA due to the initiative of MLA Vedavyasa Kamath.
A 2800-metre long fence is erected at four places in the 700 meters long bridge and four CCTV cameras are installed at four corners. The cameras will be monitored by Kankanady station police personnel.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath inaugurated the fencing barrier and CCTV cameras installed at the bridge by Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) at a cost of Rs 63 lac on Wednesday, March 3.
