Fish Prices Rise In Mangalore: Chicken & Egg Become Cheap

July 9: Mechanized fishing has been stopped for two months only country boats are venturing into fishing. There has been a huge demand for the fish in the market and therefore the fish prices have gone up. The price of Mackerel (Bangude) was Rs 350/kg, Nung (Small) Rs 350 per kg, Kane Rs 800 per kg.
In the early days of covid 19, there was a huge drop in the price of chicken meat but then there was an equal increase. After the lockdown, feed production for poultry farms stalled, poultry production was reduced and prices were further increased. Poultry production has normalized as the feed supply has stabilized. So the price is also normal. Poultry vendors in Mangalore are of the opinion that consumers, poultry and sellers are also not being harmed.
