Forest Officials Launch Search Operation to Find The Leopard Which Was Seen Again at MCC Limits
A leopard was seen in Maroli Jayanagar area within the city corporation limits on October 3, Sunday evening, which was a again seen on October 4, Monday in the Kankanady Ballalgudde area. Locals informed the officials of the forest department immediately who visited the site and inspected the clues at night. Mangalore range forest officer, Prashanth Pai, led a team which searched for the animals. The officials found paw marks of the animal in four places. They identified the marks as that of a leopard which was found at two spots and search was conducted till Monday evening. Officer Prashanth Pai said that right from Tuesday morning, services of veterinarian will be summoned and a detailed drive with the involvement of staff would be conducted. Since the leopard was spotted at Maroli, Jayanagar, Kankanady etc where many residential areas and commercial complexes are located. This is a challenge for the officials if the leopard runs amok during the operation, causing an accident or creating together problems.
