Gandhiji’s Looks Motivates the Volunteers During Swacchata Abhiyan by RK Mission

September 23: Swacchata Abhiyan by RK Mission was carried out in Capitanio and Derebail on Sunday, September 22. Presence of Gandhiji’s lookalike motivated to volunteers to work more effectively towards clean Mangalore.

Volunteers formed six teams and starting from Pumpwell identfied 6 blackspots prone for littering and cleared the area of garbage and dirt. These spots included Padil junction, opposite Fortune Apartments, near Nagori Amaar Alva Bus Stand, on road leading to Maroli Sooryanarayana Temple, opposite Capitanio School and near Pumpwell circle. Decorative flower plants were placed at these spots after levelling the area. unofficial hoardings and banners at Kankanady, Capitanio, Maroli, Pumpwell and adjoining areas were removed. Divider near Derebail Church was also cleaned along with konchady area.
