Ganesh Chaturthi Holiday Declared on September 19 in Dakshina Kannada

Public holiday for Ganesh chaturthi was declared on September 18, where as the festival will be celebrated on September 19. MLA Vedavyas Kamath had urged the government to change the holiday to 19th from 18th.

District in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has instructed the chief secretary of the government and deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada (DK) to take necessary action to change government holiday on account of Ganesh Chaturthi from September 18 to 19.

No decision is yet taken with regards to change of holiday in Udupi district.
