Gold Worth Rs 1.08 Crore Confiscated at Mangalore International Airport: New Ways Used to Smuggle Gold
Customs officials at the Mangalore international airport have confiscated as much as 1.913 kg of gold worth Rs 1.08 crore that was being smuggled between February 16 to 28. The said gold was confiscated from one woman and six men passengers.
The custom officials revealed that the gold was being smuggled through different methods, including concealment in paste form within a double-layered shirt, inside the rectum, and by pasting it under the feet. One female passenger had concealed the gold in paste form inside the waistband of her trousers, while one male passenger had gold concealed in his oral cavity.
However, the officials were able to detect and confiscate the smuggled gold. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
