Good Initiative For Cancer Patients: Free Tele-Consultation Helpline Service Launched
November 4: Indian Cancer Society in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka and Oracle, launched free tele-consultation helpline service to help cancer patients.
Indian Cancer Society which is a-non-profit organisation works to create awareness, detection, providing cure and treatment for cancer patients in India. The organisation also holds various programme to create awareness and knowledge in the early detection and prevention of cancer.
An MOU has been signed with prominent hospitals in Bangalore, Mangalore and Gulburga to help the cancer patients. The Helpline no is 08047182786 and it functions from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
This is how the helpline works: When the patient or caretaker calls the helpline number, doctors (Oncologist) talk to them to analyse their needs. The patient is asked to upload the report and medical history, based on which the doctor will be able to interact with the patient through audio or video. The doctors then advice and prescribe medicine through the Helpline.
