Good News For Pet Parents: Polyclinic For Domestic Animals With New Facilities Opened in Mangalore
The department of animal husbandry and veterinary services in Dakshina Kannada has opened a new polyclinic for cattle and other domestic animals at Kodialbail in Mangalore. The new polyclinic building has been constructed at a cost of Rs 2.1 crore through Karnataka State Housing Board. Mangalore South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath and Mangalore City Corporation corporator Sudheer Shetty Kannur inaugurated the new facility.
The work on the 8,245 sqft building was sanctioned in July 2018. It has all facilities to treat cattle, pets and other animals. The building has separate chambers for the chief doctor, surgeon and gynaecologist in addition to pharmacy and storeroom. There are separate inpatient ward and outpatient departments for large animals and small animals. It also has two separate operation theatres for large animals and small animal.
To provide better advanced treatment, the polyclinic also has been provided with x-ray room, clinical diagnostic lab, sterilization room, scrub room and isolation room. Toilets and postmortem room also have been set up.
