Government Ayush Hospital in Mangalore is All Set to Introduce Hydrotherapy: Know More

The Ayush hospital in the Wenlock District Hospital will soon introduce hydrotherapy, a treatment that uses water to treat a variety of symptoms, as part of its naturopathy services. Dr Mohammad Iqbal, district Ayush officer, said the hydrotherapy unit will be launched by this week, and that the equipment sponsored by the Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers (MCF), at an approximate cost of Rs 20 lakh has arrived. Since the facility needs a lot of water, and because of summer, depending on the availability of water, the facility will be launched soon.

Hydrotherapy is primarily used to relieve symptoms like pain and stiffness. However, experts may suggest a form of hydrotherapy as part of a broader treatment or symptom management plan. As part of naturopathy services, the hospital has put in place a sauna bath, iron detox, deluxe hydromassage, underwater massage, spinal bath, spinal spray, foot and arm bath, powder massage, local steam and other facilities.
