Great Gesture by Mangalore Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar: Grocery Kits Distributed to Transgenders

Mangalore city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has taken a great initiative to help the transgenders for whom it was getting difficult to lead a life due to the pandemic situation in the country. Commissioner Shashi Kumar along with DCP (Law and Order) Hariram Shankar, DCP (Crime and Traffic) Vinay A Gaonkar distributed the grocery kits, to over 80 transgenders in the city on the premises of the police commissioner’s office on Friday, May 29.
The grocery kits were distributed under the recently launched Samanvaya platform by the police department. This platform has responded to the needs of the impoverished by distributing food kits, groceries items, medicines along with helping them in securing beds at hospitals in the city.
