Heavy Rains Predicted: Yellow Alert Sounded in Coastal Districts

January 8: Yellow alert has been sounded in coastal districts as the upper air cyclonic circulation which brought heavy showers in many parts of the districts. Heavy rains, cold winds and foggy conditions are predicted in several parts of coastal districts for the next three days due to cyclonic circulation and a low-level trough over the Arabian Sea on the west and Bay of Bengal on the east.
Yellow alert has been issued for Dakshina Kannada (DK), Uttar Kannada and Udupi districts on the state’s west coast and Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu and Shivamogga in the state’s central or Malnad region.
