Here Is A Project To Caution People About Tsunami/Cyclones In The Coastal Region: This Sounds Great
October 30: The government has planned to install 26 siren tower in the coastal districts under national cyclone risk mitigation project to caution the people about tsunami & cyclones.
The project is worth 26.92 crores and has been approved to minimize the potential disasters in the Arabian sea. After the siren towers are installed, people living in 10 km from the coast will hear a siren much ahead of either Tsunami or cyclones.
Around 8 places have been selected each in Dakshina Kannada & Udupi districts as per a survey conducted. In Dakshina Kannada, Ullal, Someshwara, Tannirbavi, Panambur, Surathkal, Sasihitlu beach Hosabettu Beach and also near DC Office have been selected.
In Udupi district, Padubidri, Kapu, Malpe, Kodi, Mattu, Maravante, Shirur Beavch & thekkatte areas have been selected.
